The School of Humanities alumni meeting was held at 10 pm, December, 5. The meeting was initiated

by administration of the school, for which the purpose of promoting the strong bond between alumni and

the school, and offering help to teachers and students of the school. The secretary Li Gang, Deputy Dean Xiang

Zhongmin, other teachers and 30 alumni had attended this meeting.

The meeting started with some old pictures to recall people’s memories to the school. The alumni shared their

gratitude to the school. After that, the Deputy Dean Xiang Zhongmin introduced the present situation of the school and showed

the decision of building our school as the major part of basic arts field in Southwest Jiaotong University. He said: “The

alumni is the most important resource to the school. The school is just like your forever home, and you can go home

whenever you want.”

The alumni made some suggestions after listening to the introduction. Some thought that a stage for all alumni from School

of Humanities should be built as soon as possible. So they can offer help to present students, in turn, the students can also go

to related field as new blood. Others said: “The art majors tend to be short of engineering knowledge, so the school should

offer them some resources to make them serve the train departments better in future.”

At last, secretary Li took a brief summary of this meeting. He said the purpose of the alumni meeting is to set up a “home”.

Deputy Dean Xiang expressed his expectation to every student graduated from School of Humanities. He wanted the alumni

meeting to be routine as a stage of communication.
