On 18 March, the School of Humanities held a semainar about general courses of humanities and arts

in X8210. Executive vice-dean Xiang Zhongmin, other leaders Min Guanghui, Yi Bolun, Gan Lin and several

teachers from each departments had attended the meeting.

Building the general courses of humanities and arts is one of the most important jobs of the School. Wu Deli,

Liu Feiyun and other teacher reported the basic situation about the offered courses likeReading of Chinese

Classics,College Chinese,Music and Life,Chinese Philosophy. They also had a discussion about some questions

like how to give a good general education and how to optimize the available resources.

Min Guanghui refered that the lectures, communities activities and social practise are all belong to the

second class. At present, the School still needs an advancement about the building of second class. Gan Lin

had conducted a deep analysis of the goals, plans and problems in setting courses.

As a new founded School with the arts background, the School of Humanities should bear the mission of

general education in the college. The system of general courses should be designed within 2 years to play a role

in personnel trainning.
