On March 14, Bai Hua, the professor of Chinese department as well as the famous contemporary poet, was invited to attend the event“Poet Spring” by the host and Paris Diderot University as the representative of Chinese poets.

On March 15, Bai Hua attended the poetry reading session named“Chinese Poets and the World in 20th century” which is hosted by Paris Diderot University. In the session, he introduced the ties with French poetry and the present situation of Chinese poetry and then read several works of Chinese poetry. On March 22, Bai Hua was present at readers meeting for his new poetry bookIn the Qing Dynastyin Paris Phoenix Bookstore. This book was tranlated by Ms. Shang Delan, a famous sinologist from Paris Diderot University and published by the French Word Press.

No long after returning, Yangcheng Evening News has reported that one of the poetry collections of professor Bai awarded the annual poetry of“Huadi Literature Award”.

As“the best lyric poet in China” (from Bei Dao’s words), Bai Hua has received many award in his writing career. After 2010, his creation came to a boom again. Bai Hua is not only one of the best contemporary poets in China, but enjoys a high reputation abroad.
