Our School of Arts and Communication Confucius Institute Scholarship Class Student Lin Guzhi won the

At the morning of 29thMarch, 2005, Swedish local time, the 2015 “CineseBridge” Swedish division preliminary contest for university students and high school students in the world, was held inStockholmUniversityinSweden.SwedenKarlstadUniversity’s Confucius Institute supproted bySouthwestJiaotongUniversity, has elected two players to compete in this contest, and they won the first prize and the second prize respectively. Lin Guzhi (Patrik Lindahl), as college students unique set of first prize winner, will representSwedendivision to come toChinato participate in 2015 “ChineseBridge” world contest.

In 2013, Lin Guzhi won the Confucius Institute Scholarship to study at theSchoolofArtsand Communication for a year. In the early study, compared with other students’ Chinese level at the same period, Lin Guzhi who only learned more than 60 hours’ Chinese, fell behind in a relatively large gap. Our school set up a special class schedule and arranged private lessons for him. After a year of hard work and positive participation in the activities organized by our school, eventually, his spoken and written Chinese had achieved a lot of progress, and he could initiatively communicate fluently with Chinese people, and passed the Chinese level exam HSK3 with close to full marks.

In August, 2012,SouthwestJiaotongUniversitybecame one of accepted institutions of Confucius Institute Scholarship approved by Hanban. In May, 2013, after screening, 32 scholarship students from the Czech Republic, Latvia, Thailand, Sudan, Sweden were admitted, and teaching work was undertook by School of Arts and Communication. In January, 2014, all the Confucius Institute Scholarship semester students participated in the level test HSK4 and primary oral level test organized by Hanban, and they all passed the tests, which the reference rate and the pass rate was 100%. In June, 2014, the Confucius Institute Scholarship-year students participated in the level test HSK5 and middle oral level test organized by Hanban, except that one student didn’t pass, all students passed the test. All threse students said that their Chinese had improved quickly, and they loved more and more Chinese culture andChengdu. Besides, they also developed a deep affection with our teachers and school as well as univeristy.
