At 14:00 on November 14, the 2018-2019 Academic Year "Medal for Rejuvenating the Motherland When Intellectually Accomplished" Selection Exhibition for Undergraduate was held in the No. 1 Lecture Hall of the library and a total of 26 students participated in the selection. Sun Yuehao, majoring in music performing of our college in the grade of 2016, participated in the selection. Student representatives from various colleges attended this event.
At the beginning of the defense, with the theme of "Playing My 'Rejuvenating the Motherland When Intelligently Accomplished' Movement With Musical Notes" , Sun Yuehao summed up the unique nature of music performance major, and expressed the important relationship between music and his pursuit of "Rejuvenating the Motherland When Intelligently Accomplished". Then, he divided his exhibition contents into three parts.
First of all, he summed up the content of the first part with "being less ambitious and persevering". In the past four years, he has practiced for more than 4000 hours in a 2-square-meter piano room, which has made him monopolize the first place in the list of music subjects and has organized and presided over many large-scale performances. And he composed and participated in the arrangement of many excellent music works, which helped him accumulate sufficient practical experience. Then, he used "learning for application, practicing for distance" to summarize the content of the second part. “In the past three years, I have participated in more than 50 theatrical performances, with an average performance mission every two weeks. " Sun said that in response to the call of General Secretary Xi Jinping to improve students' aesthetic and humanistic accomplishment, he directed the performances of several colleges and working places. He has obtained six first prizes, a second prize and two third prizes, which provided great help to other students in music performance. "Forging ahead, winning honor for the school" was the third part of his summary. Sun used his talent in music to win many honors for Southwest Jiaotong University. In 2017, he participated in the "1896 Chorus" and won the first prize of vocal music professional group in the First College Students' Art Exhibition. He took part in the first important concert of the series of activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of Chengdu and sang with more than 30 artists including Liao Changyong. He also stood out from more than 1000 people in 126 colleges and universities in the province, joined Chengdu University Students Chorus, went to Vienna Golden Hall on behalf of our school, and won the first place. In addition, he also listed all kinds of awards he has won in the past three years, which made the judges marvel at him.
At the end of the show, he played the MV My Movement of Rejuvenating the Motherland When Intellectually Accomplished, which was both composed and played by himself. He expressed his feelings through music in the way of MV and delivered them to everyone's heart. In the end, Sun Yuehao won all the 24 votes, and was awarded the highest individual honor of Southwest Jiaotong University in the 2018-2019 academic year, namely "Medal for Rejuvenating the Motherland When Intellectually Accomplished ".
He admitted that he was excited but nervous to participate in this selection. For this exhibition, he produced no less than 20 versions of PPT. In order to improve his reply manuscript, he didn't go to bed before 3 o'clock for nearly a week. "Music is a never-ending career. I hope I can make more outstanding achievements in music in the future." He said sincerely.

I'm Sun Yuehao from class 1, grade 2016, majoring in music performance of Humanities College. Rejuvenating the motherland when intellectually accomplished has its own mark in the hearts of people of Southwest Jiaotong University, in the scenery of Xihu Zhejiang garden, or in the feelings of moving world. To me, it is more like a music with ups and downs. A parting tune with a thrice repeated refrain cannot talk about all the west winds. There are three ways of plum blossom, and you can't see the end of the moon. I will play a song today and please listen to it.
//The First Movement: "Slow Down and Persevere
In the past three years, I have used diligence and self-discipline to compose the most elegant theme of the university era. Ranking first in class and national scholarship are the strongest notes of the movement. As a major in vocal music, I have always been the first player in piano and instrumental music. In addition to my professional study, I also pay attention to the full development - planning two performances, composing 18 songs, recording 12 audio MVs, and hosting nearly 20 performances. More than 1000 days and nights, two square meters of piano room, and more than 4000 hours of practice are the best interpretation behind. Songs of a highbrow type will find very few people to join in the chorus and there must be a reward for the effort.

Appreciation of beauty is a human accomplishment. Universities should not only impart knowledge, but also shape personality with aesthetic education. As a student majoring in music performance, I actively respond to the call of the school to promote aesthetic education, and actively participate in various aesthetic education practice activities. Over the past three years, I have participated in more than 50 major artistic performances with an audience of more than 100000 people.
General Secretary Xi Jinping once said, "the purpose of learning lies in its application." After a lot of artistic practice, I have accumulated rich experience for our school to promote aesthetic education and teaching contribution.
Since entering the university, as an art director, I have participated in the art practice activities of 16 colleges or units and delivered the feeling of beauty to more than 2000 students. Taking last year's 129 red song club as an example, the colleges I supervised won 1245 prizes respectively, and four of the top five were the teams I worked for. The achievements are gratifying, but what makes me proud is that I can use what I have learned. Music has not only become my personal career, but also brought a good spiritual outlook to the majority of teachers and students, singing the motherland with music and commemorating life with music.

A journey in life is a hundred years long. During a century, there are countless first-time companions. In just three years, I witnessed and participated in many of the first meetings of our university.

In 2017, as the voice minister of the 1896 chorus, my teachers and classmates won the first prize of the Eighth College Students' Art Performance Vocal Music Competition among professional groups, which was the first prize of our school in this group.

Last year, I performed for the first time in Chengdu City Concert Hall and participated in major performances such as the World Police Association, the 70th anniversary and the Golden Bell Award. I sang with more than 30 artists, including Liao Changyong and Yin Xiumei.

In April this year, I stood out from more than 1000 people in 126 colleges and universities in the province. As the first group of members, I joined Chengdu University Students Chorus. I went to Vienna on behalf of our university to participate in the World Peace Chorus Festival. As a musician, I sang in the golden hall for the first time and won the first prize in this competition. I was specially congratulated by Mayor Luo Qiang!
Personal mission and the pulse of the times are closely linked, life will play the most brilliant melody. As a college student, I can contribute to the cultural construction of Chengdu. As a student of Jiaotong University, I can make the voice of our university reverberate in the Golden Hall of the century and on the top of the world music for a long time.
The music is composed of three chapters, and the song becomes a piece. I use music techniques to turn "Rejuvenating the Motherland When Intellectually Accomplished" into specific note forms including so, so, fa and do, which run through the whole movement. In the process of writing this song, I was surprised to find that my name had already formed an indissoluble bond with the spirit of Southwest Jiaotong University. In the future, the spirit of our university will accompany me all my life just like my name.
With this song "Rejuvenating the Motherland When Intellectually Accomplished", I would like to express my sincere thanks to our university. The biggest growth of life is to find the direction of your own. Three years ago, I was just a music student who was good at playing and singing. Now, I know who music is for and why music is for. The reason why I can step by step onto a bigger stage and fulfill my dream comes from the cultivation of Southwest Jiaotong University. Excellent organizations cultivate excellent individuals. I will never forget my original intention and move on.
Three years ago, I went to the Eighth Teaching Building, visited Xihu, set up my lofty ambition and dream of music and think about the way ahead. Hello, I'm a student of Southwest Jiaotong University.
Three years later, looking for the book garden, walking through the auditorium, recalling the past, and cherishing the original heart in front of the Yanghua stele, which makes me feel that it's good as a Southwest Jiaotong University student.
